Beginner-Intermediate

Lose your fear of watercolor! Learn to let go, play and be inspired by this dynamic medium. Basic techniques will be practiced with exercises focused on bold color and brush movements as well as translating the visible world into a simple arrangement of  shapes. An emphasis will be placed on poetic abstraction and engaging composition.

The class will include a hand-on introduction to a limited palette of primary colors, playing with water control, 3 shape composition from life, value/color and the specific challenges of watercolor on location. There will be demos, timed painting exercises, discussion, and individual instruction.
