Red-eyed Vireo Vireo olivaceus
Virginia creeper vine Parthenocissus quinquefolia
sphinx moth caterpillar Darapsa myron
The five fingered leaves of Virginia creeper vine are a handy home for the hungry sphinx moth caterpillar. Brown and white, the Red-eyed Vireo is certainly not a fashion statement except for the blue cap and red eyes, but this tireless happy songster lights up the swamp with his musical improvisation.
