Ruby-throated Hummingbird Archilochus colubris

Trumpet Creeper vine Campsis radicans

bumblebee bombus spp.

Virginia Creeper gently clings to the thin, scaly bark of Bald Cypress with padded feet while trumpet creeper grabs on with burrowing roots. The hummingbirds roar and bumblebees and purr, rambling among the trumpet shaped blossoms. An arial race, each is on a mission to reach blossoms first for a prize of sweet nectar they are built to reach.
